Is your independence and ability to figure it out celebrated? Are the words hard working, resilient, or strength often used to describe you?

If you’re exhausted from trying to hide your pain behind a shield of perfection; you may benefit from mental health therapy. It’s okay to ask for help.

HOW I HELP

I help high performing individuals who have found success, but in maintaining status and position, have developed a mental health problem that they need help to address.

Substance Abuse

Substance Abuse is my primary specialization. My treatment approach seeks to understand biological, psychological and social factors that hold the addiction in place. We'll work together to unravel all these factors and help move you forward. If you are currently in medication management, substance abuse counseling can be additional sobriety support. Counseling is also available for those supporting loved ones struggling with addiction. Recovery is possible!

Gambling Addiction

Get help recognizing the signs of problematic gambling.  If untreated, problem gambling behaviors can turn into an addiction. Gambling is not a financial solution and we can work together to develop a financial recovery plan. Gambling problems not only impact the person who is gambling, but frequently cause distress for family and friends. Help is also available for family members who are supporting loved ones through a gambling problem.

Social Anxiety

Would you like help for your anxiety due to an inability to relax and engage during social settings. Learn and practice techniques to begin to feel a sense of ease in small social gatherings and various virtual environments. My process focuses on you developing self-compassion, social skills training, and give and receive healthy feedback.

Life Transitions

You may be experiencing fear and trouble adjusting as your life transitions beyond current norms, struggling with career performance or you may have a relationship that has gone through a major shift. I can work with you on implementing effective strategies in your life to help you navigate your personal growth journey.

Student Athletes 14 +

Many teens and young adults are struggling to handle the new pressures and increased expectations of high school and college. If you are a student athlete, you may face additional unique stressors that include isolation, struggles with performance and being routinely faced with trying to meet or surpass goals placed in front of you that may be overwhelming. You may have developed harmful coping behaviors like problematic internet usage or substance abuse.

Begin to enjoy your high school or college experience, reduce internal distress, improve your connection with family, friends and teammates.

HOW I HELP

We can create new healthy coping skills and healthy behaviors to improve and maintain your mental health.

Problematic Internet Usage

What is your relationship to the internet? Does it include increasing amounts of usage of social media, on-line betting or gaming, constant news feeds, absently scrolling or consuming large amounts of video content. Let’s work to understand your usage and create a healthy, positive balance of the internet usage and daily living.

Depressive Disorders

Depression can manifest itself in your life in many ways and you may not fully understand what you are experiencing. Let’s work together to explore what you are experiencing, develop language to actually describe how you feel and think; as well as work toward improving and balancing your moods.

Anxiety

Experiencing feelings of nervousness, excessive fidgeting, rapid heart rate or increased breathing due to worries about an unknown outcome can get in the way of you being able to function in school, social settings and in relationships. Let’s work to manage your moods by addressing how you perceive the expectations put on you and performance goals. We can develop techniques to navigate challenging or unknown environments and practice coping strategies in-session.
